Most of us sit through plays and films without thinking where the realistic-looking props come from. A plastic version of Yorick’s skull may not be too hard to come by, but a script may call for a spear that looks the part but isn’t going to kill anyone, or the director demands an alien. That’s where the prop-maker comes in. You will design, construct and finish a prop which could be used as part of a theatre set or in a carnival parade.  The finished piece can result in any form, themed or random; man or animal, plant, spacecraft or monster… you decide.
