June

Just when we think the scale of things can’t get any bigger or any better, it does! I am delighted to confirm that Hanger 18 and the Magee Core Society (Uni of Ulster, Student’s Union) are taking over the Millennium forum – for one night only! Bringing their mass of equipment these groups have managed to take our festival up a level and are hosting this large scale event throughout the realms of the Millennium Forum!  The Big Bang Theory and Studio Ghibli screenings are set to take place as well as mini cupcakes and some retro Pokémon card trading!

All the elements of this ‘cultural crossroads’ are near completion and the planning of the launch is well underway with InterAct’s 5th Birthday headlining the planning. Watch this space….

May

Exciting times are fast approaching! This month has witnessed some amazing connections being set up for the InterAct 2013 programme and we are excited to reveal that we have teamed up with ARTS EKTA to present a COLOUR FEST: INDIE NIGHT.  Our new partners are driving us straight to the ‘cultural crossroads’ and are set to infuse the InterAct Youth Arts Programme with a glorious Indian spice! Their event will run on Sunday 28th July from 5pm – 9pm and will host an amazing ‘holi throwing’ spectacle alongside Henna Tattooing and even some Bollywood dancing.

We have another new partnership under our wings this month with the addition of the National Youth Orchestra. This is a vibrant and highly acclaimed orchestra that is set to instil the youth of the InterAct festival with their expertise. It is an honour to have them on board and to have them accelerate our journey through the ‘cultural crossroads’ that our participants are hoping to embark upon.

After this eventful month I am excited to see what June brings in our InterAct Partnerships!
